Ukrainian activists in Latvia picketed the Russian embassy
On July 16, activists of the Society for the Support of Ukraine (Latvia) held rallies near the embassies of the Netherlands and Russia in Riga.
The actions took place on the eve of the seventh anniversary of the downing of flight MH17, according to the organization's website.
"MH17 - We will not forget, and we will never forgive! Flight MH17 was shot down on July 17, 2014. All 298 people died," the activists said.
We will remind that the Boeing 777 plane was shot down near Torez in the Donetsk region during the Russian armed aggression in the east of Ukraine. An international investigation established that the plane was shot down by a Russian-made Buk anti-aircraft missile system. 2On May 4, 2018, the authorities of Australia and the Netherlands officially blamed Russia for the plane crash. In terms of the number of victims, the Boeing 777 crash became the largest in the history of Ukraine and the deadliest downing of a passenger plane.
