Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands told Europeans about the war
On June 26, 2022, the Human Library Ukraine event took place in Groningen (Netherlands), where everyone could talk personally with Ukrainians who were forced to leave Ukraine because of the war.
Ukrainian refugees who are now in the Netherlands told Europeans about the war, their own stories, showed real photos, reports the Foundation "Ukrainians in the Netherlands".
"War can seem distant and not felt as strongly as when these events happen to acquaintances or are experienced personally. This event was held precisely in order to bring everyone willing to the real situation and allow them to understand what it is like to experience difficult events during the war: grief, losses, occupation and the inability to help loved ones," the organization notes.
Activists of the Foundation thanked everyone who joined the event and reminded that the war continues and affects the lives of each of us.
