A member of the Ukrainian community of Ankara wrote a book about rare professions in Turkey
Kateryna Zagorodnya (Shafak), a journalist of the Turkish information portal Ukr-Aina and a member of the Ukrainian Union in Ankara, wrote the book "I work between Europe and Asia". The project was implemented by the Ukrainian Union in Ankara with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Turkey.
The book tells about interesting professions of Turkish residents. The author personally communicated with the characters of the book during her life in this country. In addition, in the work you can learn more about life in Turkey in general, disprove the most common stereotypes, says the material of the Ukr-Aina portal.
"During the five years of living in Turkey, many things surprised me: drummers who play in the middle of the night under the windows, people who distribute pastries on their heads at seven in the morning and shout something while doing so, bald men with strange spots on their heads that look like rashes , who take pictures of Istanbul with a satisfied face. I didn't understand why veterinary clinics work 24 hours a day, and there are only a few 24-hour pharmacies for people in Ankara, and why the streets of the city become deserted when a series is on TV. I thought about why the mentality of people in the east and west of Turkey is so different. And also, why is there still a profession of shoeshine here and why are the Turks so desperately risking their lives washing windows from the outside on high floors. While I was finding answers to these questions for myself personally, I was gathering material for the book," Kateryna wrote on her Facebook page.
