DEMAC: Call for Applications for Ukrainian diaspora & local Ukrainian NGOs in Warsaw

We are pleased to inform that DEMAC will host an in-person two-day workshop (October 23-24) in Warsaw for Ukrainian diaspora organizations and local Ukrainian NGOs.

The workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of project planning and development for organizations involved in humanitarian response. At the same time, the goal is to offer a platform for Ukrainian humanitarian actors to exchange knowledge and experience about the current humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. 

Application & Selection Process

The number of participants is limited to 20 Ukrainian diaspora organizations and 10 local Ukrainian NGOs. Interested organizations need to apply before the deadline September 30, 2022.

After submission of the application DEMAC will select participants according to the following criteria:

Selection criteria for diaspora organizations (20 spots)

- The organization is a Ukrainian diaspora organization.

- The organization focuses primarily on humanitarian response in Ukraine or/and on refugee response in its country of residence.

- Umbrella organizations representing/coordinating Ukrainian organizations humanitarian efforts will also be considered.

Only one member of each organization will be selected. This participant ideally should be in a leadership/programme role in the organization and is expected to be able to speak on behalf of the organization.

A balance between diaspora organizations from neighbouring countries to Ukraine, countries hosting the most of Ukrainian displaced people, and those countries with large Ukrainian diaspora communities will be ensured.

Selection criteria for Ukrainian local NGOs (10 spots)

- Official registration in Ukraine as a non-profit organization not later than April 2022

- Only one participant from the organization can participate in the workshop.

This participant ideally should be in a leadership/programme role in the organization and is expected to be able to speak on behalf of the organization.

The organization focuses primarily on humanitarian response in Ukraine or/and on IDP response in Ukraine. Previous experience of engagement with diaspora organizations would be beneficial Organization’s participation in coordination mechanisms existing in Ukraine would be beneficial

Language

The workshop will be held in Ukrainian language. Costs Travel expenses and accommodation will be covered by DEMAC.
