On September 27, 2022, the "Ukrainian Bookshelf" was opened in the Central Municipal Library of Seoul. The project was implemented under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
"Although it was quite difficult to bring books from Ukraine, the works of Ukrainian authors are already available to the Korean reader," said Olena Ponomarenko, the wife of the Ambassador of Ukraine to South Korea.
The library contains Ukrainian books about the history, culture, traditions, cuisine and tourist places of Ukraine, as well as children's literature.
A permanent stand with traditional Ukrainian objects, including caskets with Petrykivskyi painting and Motanka dolls, were also created for the library's guests.
