On February 25, 2023, employees of the Embassy and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Egypt visited the famous Alexandria Library. There they holded a commemorative ceremony on the occasion of the 152nd anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka's birth.
Ambassador of Ukraine Mykola Nagornyi emphasized the great importance of the artist's work for present and future generations, urged to take an example from her and to maintain our connection with Ukraine.
A symbolic bouquet of sunflowers was placed next to the bas-relief of Lesya Ukrainka. Young students of the Ukrainian Saturday School in Cairo read the famous poems of the poetess and showed themed drawings created by themselves.
