On February 21, 2023, the "Sea of Light" action took place on St. Stephen's Square in the center of Vienna. The participants of the action lit 5,000 candles as a sign of support and solidarity with Ukrainian children.
The initiators of the action were the charitable organization "Caritas" and the Ukrainian community, reports Ukrinform.
According to Caritas president Michael Landau, the action is intended to demonstrate long-term intentions to help Ukraine, which continues to suffer from Russian aggression. "We will continue to help Ukraine and Ukrainians. We would like to remind you of this with today's sea of light," said Landau.
