The Royal Opera Chorus Sang in Support of Ukraine

The Royal Opera Chorus and more than 130 London-based Ukrainians performed a range of works from their collaborative project "Songs for Ukraine", to mark a year since russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The performance was part of a culmination of a two-month project in which they have explored traditional Ukrainian music and a set of opera choruses. The project is designed to help share lived experiences of being displaced by war, show the resilience of the wider Ukrainian community, and to enrich our own musical repertory by providing space to discover and learn about Ukrainian choral music.

The National Anthem of Ukraine and "Prayer for Ukraine" were performed at the Royal Opera House.

"We thank the organisers and everyone who took part in the project, which will resonate in Ukrainian and British hearts for a long time to come", Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom informs.
