Nordic Ukraine Forum joined Almedalen, Sweden's biggest democracy festival in Visby, Gotland.
Ukrainian activists organized the stand "War in Europe - Ukraine's resistance and Sweden's support", as well as the panel discussion "What can Sweden learn from the mobilization of Ukrainian civil society?"
"We are grateful to all the participants: Sofia Hoas, head of the Svenskbyborna association, Ellie Reynolds and Johan Petre - co-founders of OperationAid, Pavel Melnyk, head of Ukrainska Föreningen Östergötland, moderator Inza Neslund from the Olof Palmes International Center and our representative Alyona Kashinia for an interesting discussion," the organization's page says.
As last year, Ukraine was on the agenda of Almedalen: various seminars were devoted to the historical development of Ukraine, the lessons of Ukrainian resistance, the support of Sweden and the future restoration of Ukraine. In addition, there were many panel discussions about the consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine - in Sweden, in the EU and around the world.
Ukrainian activists also took part in a powerful demonstration in support of Ukraine, organized by the action group Ryssland ut ur Ukraina.
