Vasyl Slipak was commemorated in Paris

On July 1, a classical music concert was held in Paris, dedicated to the anniversary of Vasyl Slipak's death.

Ukrainian musicians living in France took part in the concert: Oleksandra Mayet, Ihor Hnidy, Olga Monakh, Toma Bervetskyi and Andriy Malakhov, reports Tyzhden magazine.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Ukraine, Vadym Omelchenko, compared Vasyl Slipak with the French writer and pilot Antoine Saint-Exupéry, the artist who died defending France. And the French professor of political science, Philippe de Lara, noted in his introductory speech that the fate of the hero of Ukraine will inspire many more artists, says Alla Lazareva  on her page.

We will remind you that Vasyl Slipak is a world-famous Ukrainian opera singer, a soloist of the Paris National Opera, a volunteer, a participant in the Revolution of Dignity and hostilities in the East of Ukraine.

He died in battle from a sniper's bullet on June 29, 2016. Video from the concert can be viewed here.
